A beautiful day of Mediterranean waves with excellent weather last February 5th at Marleys surf spot, where the first edition of the Marleys cold water invitational took place.
The contest, organized by Valerio Cicconi of the Malta surf school saw the participation of 20 local and non-local surfers from different areas of the island but also from Italy, Ireland and South Africa, Belgium and England, who gathered on the north- east of Malta to give its best.
Malta surf school ensured a perfect running of the event, also thanks to the waves of good consistency
throughout the day, accompanied by moderate active winds.
There were prizes offered by sponsors Malta surf school, Decathlon, Go&Fun energy drink and rebel and Bomba Magazine.
In front of the large crowd present in the bay, the Brazilian Fernando reached the final, where he found himself in the last heat with the south African Laurie, the French Basile and the English surfers coach of Malta surf school Sky.
Fernando showed the best of all and taking home the title of the first edition of the Marleys cold water invitational.
At the end of the beautiful day, lots of celebrations on the beach warmed up by a good shower of Prosecco and lots of good vibes.
Here also an Article of 4surf an Italian Magazine that talk about the event.
